Not a great night for the home supporters at Llanandras Park

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s hopes that the home match against Churchstoke on Thursday, 19 September might present a chance to kickstart the season proved unfounded.

Churchstoke proved too strong on the night as they ran out 6-0 winners in their MMP with Norman Lloyd League second-division game at Llanandras Park.

The game was effectively up at half-time as Churchstoke went in with a 3-0 advantage and there was to be no way back for Terry Williams’ side after the break.

Churchstoke went on to net three more times to close out an emphatic victory in what was their first away league victory of the season.

So, another tough night for the first-team squad but they’ll need to regroup quickly as they are due to return to action on Sunday, 22 September.

Terry’s side will head to Mid Wales League (South) club Talgarth Town for their first-round tie in the Radnorshire Cup.

The kick off at Talgarth is scheduled for 2.30pm.
