Another game called off due to heavy rain

Presteigne St Andrews FC regret to announce that the scheduled Mid Wales League (South) game against Hay St Mary’s Reserves on Friday, 15 November has been postponed.

Given it has caned it down for the past 24 hours and there is the promise of more to come, this decision won’t come as a massive shock to anyone living in the Mid Wales area.

While it’s always regrettable to call off a match, common sense has prevailed here and club officials opted to make an early call.

We are grateful to the league secretary Paul Worts and officials at Hay St Mary’s for their understanding over this but there really was very little point in prolonging a decision that would only have been taken tomorrow anyway.

While it’s not supposed to rain as heavily on Friday as it has done throughout Thursday, there is nonetheless the chance of yet more bad weather.

Given that the pitch is saturated now it was felt it would be far better make the early call then keep people hanging on for another 12 hours or so.
