Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Christmas Draw will not be taking place this year.
The reasons are, I am sure, pretty obvious but senior figures within the club felt that the logistics involved in selling tickets would make life very difficult for everyone this year.
The overriding factor has to be the safety of all committee members, players and friends of the club so we felt it wouldn’t be fair to ask them to sell tickets.
Also, given that many shops and businesses that normally kindly donate prizes have been having a difficult time this year, it was further felt it would be hard to ask them for their support.
It is a great shame as the Christmas Draw is traditionally a good fundraiser for the club but we have to take the pragmatic approach this year and hope that we can come back strongly next year.
We hope that everyone will appreciate the rationale behind the decision and that we can come back bigger and even better next time round.
