Presteigne St Andrews FC and CP Llanandras will both open their Mid Wales League (South) campaigns when they will meet at Llanandras Park on Friday, 3 September.

The clubs have been given the task of launching the league season and both teams will be keen to put down an early marker.

Presteigne will technically be the home side for the fixture which is due to get underway at 7.30pm.

Credit has to go to the club officials for all the hard work they have done behind the scenes to get both sides to this stage.

In particular, club secretaries Sharon Jones and Alan Stocker have been battling with bureaucracy over the registration of players on the online ‘Comet’ system.

But we have got there in the end and so the focus will solely be on the football on Friday evening.

Here’s hoping there is a good turnout for the game – if you are looking for a good night out, then why not head down to the ground for this, the ultimate in derby games.

The tea hut and the bar will be open so you won’t go hungry or thirsty.
