Presteigne Reserves will head to the Racecourse this evening for their Penybont Cup semi-final in which they will take on Builth Wednesdays.

Barry Williams’ side reached this stage after a quarter-final victory at Newcastle and will be keen to give themselves a chance of adding the Penybont Cup to the Radnor Valley and Alfred Sparey trophies they have already won this season.

But Barry is warning that his side will need to have a far better collective attitude than they did going into the league game against Knighton Town on Saturday.

“I just felt that the boys thought it was going to be easy and fell into a trap after Knighton’s result [against CP Llanandras] the previous week and we never really got going,” he said.

“We will have to try and put it right in the semi final but will have to make changes as Richie Wilding is on holiday while Johnny Bird, Jack Bowne and Ryan Sparey are all due to work that night,” he added.

The kick off at Penybont will be at 7.00pm and should the Reserves come through tonight’s tie then they would be heading back to the ‘bont on Friday evening for the final in which they will play either Penybont United or Penybont Athletic who were due to play their semi-final on Monday 24 May.

It is hoped to have a result and match report up on the site at some stage later this evening.
