Presteigne St Andrews club chairman Alan Randell has confirmed there will be around 70 people at the club’s annual dinner and awards night.
The event is being held at the Burton Hotel in Kington on Saturday 5 June and those attending are asked to be there for 7.00pm with a view to sitting down to eat at 7.30pm.
While the numbers might be slightly down on previous years this is largely down to an unfortunate clash with a major charity event at Titley Village Hall on the same evening.
A number of ‘regular football club dinner attendees’ had already arranged to go to Titley and this has impacted to a degree on both functions.
I have been asked if there was a guest speaker at the dinner – there is not, largely due to four managers having to have their say and then a host of presentations. In recent years it has been felt that if we have a guest speaker as well then the evening can drag on a bit.
If you haven’t booked your place yet, then I would suggest you get hold of Dot Griffiths about five minutes ago…. if you haven’t yet paid for your ticket, then similarly please speak to Dot as soon as possible.
A special request from the chairman – please be on time! It is clearly going to be a busy night in terms of the speeches etc and so he is looking to make a prompt start so, just to reiterate, 7.00pm for 7.30pm means in Kington for 7.00pm… not taking the top of your last pint in the Farmers at 7.15pm….!
