Presteigne St Andrews held a highly successful annual dinner and awards evening at the Burton Hotel in Kington on Saturday 5 June.
Around 70 people attended the function which featured a very nice three-course meal and then brief speeches from all four managers as they reviewed their respective team’s season.
It was good to see four trophies on display on the top table – the Radnorshire Cup, the Otway Cup, the Alfred Sparey Cup and the Radnor Valley Cup.
Nobody could recall the last time the club had won both the Otway Cup and Sparey Cup in the same season – if, indeed, it had ever happened before.
The following awards were presented by either the managers or the club president Idris Gwilt:
First team:
Manager’s Player of the Season – Shane Sutton
Players’ Player of the Season – Luke Boundford
Reserves:
Manager’s Player of the Season – Danny Ives
Players’ Player of the Season – Callum Matthews
CP Llanandras:
Manager’s Player of the Season – James Watkins
Players’ Player of the Season – Corin Jones
Under 18s:
Manager’s Player of the Season – Connor Bird
Players’ Player of the Season – Danny Ives
Other Awards:
Supporters’ Player of the Season – Shane Sutton
Most Improved Player – Callum Matthews
Clubman of the Year – Trevor Owens
If you have any photographs of the dinner – and there was no shortage of cameras around on the night – then email one or two in and, if we get enough, then I will put together a gallery at some stage next week.
A few thoughts on each team’s season will also appear on their respective pages, together with pictures of that team’s awards winners – these will appear at some stage over the next week or so.
