Reserves v Knighton Town – game on

Presteigne St Andrews FC
The Reserves will play Knighton Town on Monday afternoon

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s chairman Alan Randell has confirmed this afternoon’s scheduled Mid Wales League (South) match between Presteigne Reserves and Knighton Town will go ahead as planned.

Club officials worked hard at Llanandras Park yesterday to ensure everything is in order for this afternoon’s derby match.

While the pitch has recovered remarkably well from the recent wintry weather, the switching on of the water supply revealed other more pressing problems as there was a burst pipe in the changing rooms.

Our thanks to Dale Tomkins for giving up a sizeable chunk of his Sunday to come and help out the club by doing the essential repairs.

Also thanks to Dot Griffiths and helpers for ensuring the bar is up and running – be honest, the least you can now do to repay Dot is to go and have a drink after the game.

The kick off is at 2.00pm… or as soon as both sides and the referee decide to go ahead after that(!)

It is hoped to have an initial report on the game up on the site at some stage this evening with a more detailed version at some stage tomorrow after I have cornered ‘Crowie’ for his thoughts on proceedings.
