There is a report on the Reserves’ end-of-season victory at Knighton Town up on their page of the site – my thanks to Andy Crowe for his cooperation throughout the season in providing information for both previews and match reports.
The Ressies’ win at Knighton, combined with results elsewhere, had a fairly major bearing on the top end of the Mid Wales League (South) table.
Andy Crowe’s side finished the season in fourth place in the division while their win at Bryn-y-Castell did Newcastle a favour as it allowed the Shropshire club to overhaul Knighton and take the runners-up spot on goal difference.
Christian Roberts netted both goals for Presteigne Reserves who had Alan Stocker sent off near the end for a second yellow card.
But this did little to take the gloss of what was a fine result with which to end the season – and also the fact that the Reserves ended their campaign with a 12-game unbeaten run.
