Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s’ manager Roy Simcock informs me that Monday night’s scheduled HFA Floodlit Youth League match has been called off.

The Under 18s were due to travel to Bridge Street in Leominster for a match against Leominster Minors but the game will now have to be rearranged.

Roy tells me the reason for the postponement is down to fixture congestion and player availability and that this has been accepted by Val Lambert of the HFA who will now rearrange the game.

While I don’t know all the ins and outs of this particular case, clearly the Under 18s can be playing a lot of football if they are playing on a Saturday for their club side, then for their school or college, as well as the HFA Floodlit League games.

As there are only seven clubs competing in the league this season there should be ample opportunity to fit the game in somewhere further down the line.

Meanwhile, the Reserve-team fixtures for October have been added to their page of the site – simply hover over the ‘Reserves’ tab at the top of the page and then click on the drop-down menu for this season.

Stuart Skidmore’s side will open October with a home match against a Sennybridge side that has found the going tough so far this season and the month will also feature home games against Radnor Valley and Llandrindod Wells Reserves.

There will be away trips to Bucknell in the first round of the League Cup, and also to Bronllys in the league.
