Presteigne St Andrews FC will host old rivals Knighton Town in the first round of the second division League Cup this weekend.
The sides are due to meet at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 26 November when the kick off will be at 2.30pm.
Normally a competition entitled ‘Second Division League Cup’ might have shades of the ‘Regional Photocopier of the Year Awards’ about it, but given it is a derby game, there will be plenty on it.
There is no game for the Reserves this weekend, so all attention will be on Llanandras Park and it’s hoped we will have a good crowd for the game with more than a few making the trip over the hill.
The sides have already met this season of course when Knighton were worthy winners in the Radnorshire Cup tie at Bryn-y-Castell.
Here’s hoping Trevor’s team can exact a little revenge in round two of what is becoming a long term series of games over the next few months.
In addition to this weekend’s games, we are due to meet Knighton Town twice over the Christmas and New Year period, and then again in the Otway Cup in March.
