A busy weekend at Llanandras Park

Presteigne St Andrews FC
The bouncy castles went down well with kids – of all ages

Presteigne St Andrews FC would like to thank everyone who helped in any way towards the undoubted success of what was a hugely busy weekend at the club.

Saturday’s visit of the Groundhoppers went off well with 260 people turning out for the visit of Rhosgoch Rangers – an attendance which the ‘hoppers themselves said was a good effort as a good number of their own members will go and watch their own teams on a Saturday before joining up with the ‘hop’ later in the weekend.

I am not going to name individuals for fear of missing someone out, but many thanks to everyone for all the hard work they put in to ensuring this match went off as well as it obviously did.

Then, it was on to Sunday – another huge success and clearly all those hours the chairman spent at the other Presteigne St Andrews praying for fine weather was time well spent!

The beer flowed better than the football in the Over 40s game, but they all seemed to have a good time in that match with Presteigne coming out on top 4-2 over Knighton Town.

Our thanks to the junior footballers for the entertainment they provided earlier in the day in which the Under 15s just shaded it against the Under 14s.

Thanks also to everyone who turned out for the clear up operation on the Monday morning when the weather conditions were nowhere near as good.

There will be more detailed accounts of both days on the site in the coming days but in the meantime, once again, the club would like to thank the many helpers for their hard work across the weekend – we really could not have done it without you.
