Presteigne Reserves went down 2-0 in their pre-season friendly at Orleton on Thursday, 21 July.
But, despite the result, manager Tom Ammonds said there were a lot of plus points to take from this showing.
“While you never like to lose, it was very positive as the majority of the squad was under 21,” said Tom.
“Given that Orleton play in the Herefordshire League Premier Division this has to go down as a good performance.
“We had plenty of chances but unfortunately couldn’t convert them so maybe some shooting practice is needed but we can work on that before the start of the league season.
“The game was played over three 30-minute periods and we kept possession well in first two periods.
“In the final 30-minute period we changed the system totally and the lads coped well with what we asked of them.”
