Presteigne St Andrews FC will continue the build up to the new season with an away trip to Ludlow Town on Saturday, 8 July.

Although they lost the game, manager Shaun Harris was pleased by the side’s application and overall performance in the opener against Kington Town – that was also played on Ludlow Town’s 3G pitch.

That game was played over three 30-minute periods and Presteigne started well but the inevitable raft of substitutions later in the game disrupted the flow late on.

There was another good turnout for training on Tuesday evening and Shaun was encouraged by the response to what he admits is a tough pre-season training regime, but he says it’s a case of ‘no pain, no gain’.

As regards the Ludlow game, if you would like to hear what Shaun thinks about the prospects for that one, then you can do so by clicking here or on the image at the top of this page.

A number of players are unavailable for this game due to a long-standing stag weekend but Shaun still hopes to take a decent squad to south Shropshire.

We hope to have the result of the Ludlow game up online at some stage over the weekend as well as any details that come to hand.

If you are heading over to Ludlow on Saturday afternoon then I am advised the kick off time for this game will be at 2.30pm
