Defeat in the final home league game of the season

Brecon Northcote will be the first visitors to Llanandras Park this season

…well, it is this week, anyway.

Presteigne St Andrews FC will play their first home match of the MMP with Norman Lloyd Mid Wales League season on Wednesday, 15 August.

Brecon Northcote will be our visitors to Llanandras Park for a 7.30pm kick off.

Brecon have had a couple of long away trips with which to start their season – Saturday’s opening match saw them head to Borth United where they were on the wrong end of a 5-1 scoreline.

But, as Borth were relegated from Division One at the end of last season, this was always likely to be a tough opener.

Presteigne’s 2-2 draw at Machynlleth was an encouraging start, not least because manager Shaun Harris was without a sizeable proportion of his squad due to injuries, holidays and work commitments.

Shaun is hoping to have a bigger pool of players from which to select for Wednesday night’s game.

“We should have Jack Stubbs and Harry Clay available for this one,” he said.

“We are trying to get Tom Crichton back from holiday but he’s 50-50 at the moment,” he added.

Admission prices for Wednesday night’s game will be the usual £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for youngsters under the age of 16.
