Crowie brings in a striker

The Reserves' last home game was against St Harmon in early November

Presteigne Reserves manager Andy Crowe has not been sitting around twiddling his thumbs during the cold snap as he has moved to strengthen his attacking options.

‘Crowie’ has been looking to pep up his strike force for some time and has now confirmed he will have a new player on board for when the action resumes.

“I am hoping to sign 19 year old striker Christian Roberts from Wooferton FC in time for the thaw which will presumably be some time in February,” said ‘Crowie’.

“Other than the fact he knows where the net is, I have to admit to not knowing a great more deal about him yet but will get more background soon as his agent phones me!

“Meanwhile, cup secretary Tom Edwards has confirmed our entry into the Builth Cup and has had confirmation that we have a bye into the semi-finals,” he added.

The Reserves are hoping the thaw continues between now and Monday 3 January when they are due to host Knighton Town at Llanandras Park.

After six straight postponements, it is now two months since ‘Crowie’s’ side last played a home match when they beat St Harmon 6-0 on 6 November.
