Preview of the weekend action

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Ryan Stokes in action at Four Crosses earlier in the season

Presteigne St Andrews will head to Four Crosses looking to cause what in the eyes of many Spar League fans would be a surprise result were they to win in Montgomeryshire.

But there are grounds for optimism – not only did Presteigne pick up a long overdue win last weekend when they beat Tregaron Turfs at Llanadras Park, but they also pushed ‘Crosses’ all the way when the  sides met earlier in the season in a Central Wales Cup tie.

A goal in extra time ultimately condemned Presteigne to a 2-1 defeat that day, but the general view was it was a vast improvement on the opening league fixture between the sides when Four Crosses won 4-2 at Llanandras Park.

Four Crosses have a website, so if you fancy taking a look at how things are going from their perspective, you can do so by clicking here.

Meanwhile, the Reserves return to Mid Wales League (South) action when they will host Bucknell at Llanandras Park (kick off 2.30pm).

Manager Stuart Skidmore will be looking for his side to pick up a welcome victory in this one as it has been some time since they collected three points.

While there was a J Emrys Morgan win over Kerry Reserves in November, the last league victory was in the first meeting of the season at Bucknell – that was on 10 September.

It is hoped to have the results up online at around 6.30pm on Saturday evening with more detailed match reports to come over the course of the next few days.
