Newbridge game at Llanandras Park this evening

Adriano’s new-look squad will face a stiff test against Newbridge this evening

Presteigne St Andrews FC have arranged a friendly game against Newbridge which will take place this evening – Wednesday, 25 July – at Llanandras Park.

As is so often the way with pre-season games, some games that are planned for weeks in advance then don’t happen for one reason or another, and the Presteigne-Lads Club fixture that was due to take place in Hereford this evening was called off.

But manager Adriano Girolami moved quickly to organise a replacement fixture and so Spar League One club Newbridge will travel the well-worn road to Llanandras Park for a 7.30pm kick off.

Followers of local football will be well aware that Newbridge have attracted some very decent players in recent seasons and they are clearly looking to mount another serious title challenge this season.

Among their latest recruits is over very own Ryan Stokes who has reportedly made the switch from Llanandras Park in recent days.

If you are at a loose end this evening and would like to see how Adriano’s squad is taking shape then – as mentioned – the kick off will be at 7.30pm.

I am reliably informed Adriano is looking to run the rule over a clutch of potential signings during this game to add to the eight players he has so far signed, the latest of whom was Russell Jones who put pen to paper last weekend.

I hope to have the result and a few thoughts on just how things went up online at some stage later this evening.
