Bartestree today, but Borth game called off

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Another home pre-season game for Adge’s side

Presteigne St Andrews FC will today continue the build up to the new Spar Mid Wales League season when they will take on Bartestree at Llanandras Park where  the kick off will be at 3.oopm.

After good work outs against both Builth Wells and Newbridge, attention will switch to Herefordshire opposition for this one.

Manager Adriano Girolami is again expected to mix and match his squad so he can take a look at all of the players available to him.

Bartestree head into new territory this season as they have joined the West Midlands League where they will begin life in the second division.

They have a very good set up, with an excellent pitch and clubhouse – the latter is shared with the cricket club.  I only know this as I was playing cricket there last week!

Adge has confirmed that both Brian Dyer and Simon Hamer have committed to the club for the coming season, so his number of signed-on players continues to grow.

One other line of news – the scheduled friendly match at Borth United on Sunday, 5 August has been cancelled, but in this instance, it was for very understandable reasons.

The recent devastating floods that hit the Borth area washed right through the club’s dressing rooms and have reportedly led to the decision that they have now been condemned as they are unusable.

Clearly this would be a major blow to any club and you can only feel for Borth United and their committee as they try to sort that out ahead of their new season.
