Radnorshire Cup game on – at the moment

Tonight’s match goes ahead unless you are otherwise advised

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s chairman Alan Randell has confirmed tonight’s Radnorshire Cup tie against Penybont goes ahead – at the moment.

A precautionary inspection of the pitch at Llanandras Park this morning revealed it was playable at the time, but it was similarly obvious that the pitch would cut up badly due to the heavy rain of the past 48 hours or so.

There are concerns that were there to be any further rain then the game would again be in doubt so a second inspection is planned for later this afternoon.

“While it was playable when we looked this morning, it was very wet in places and there are concerns about possibly damaging this pitch this early on in the season,” Alan told the website.

“But we are going to take another look later in the afternoon when a final decision will be taken although, even if we do decide the game can go ahead, any further heavy rain later in the day might mean we’d have to take another look.

“Hopefully the game will go ahead as I know Adge and the boys are keen to play – but we will get the word out as soon as any final decision is taken,” he added.

Please assume the game goes ahead unless you are advised differently – the kick off will be at 7.3opm.
