Under 18s’ Giantkillers Cup game off again

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Another frustrating week for the Under 18s

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s were due to head to Pegasus on Thursday, 29 November for their rearranged Giantkillers Cup match but this has once again fallen victim to the weather.

Given the heavy rain that has hit the area over the past week or so, the decision came as no great surprise to anyone.

Pegasus opted to take an early decision as it was apparently obvious there was no way their ground was going to improve between now and Tuesday night.

This is the second time the Giantkillers Cup tie has been called off and we will now await a new date from the HFA as to when we will head to Old School Lane – hopefully it will then be a case of ‘third time lucky’.

The decision – while unavoidable – merely serves to add to the frustrations for Under 18s’ manager Roy Simcock and his squad – this is the fifth postponement or abandonment of the season so far and three of them have been in scheduled games against Pegasus.

The Under 18s’ next scheduled game is at Leominster on Wednesday, 5 December when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.
