Tonight’s game against Llanidloes has been called off

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s scheduled Spar Mid Wales League Cup, first-round tie against Llanidloes Town which was scheduled for tonight – Wednesday, 19 December – has been postponed.

This won’t come as a major surprise to anyone given the fact it has been caning it down for most of the day, but club chairman Alan Randell and groundsman Tracy Hammond confirmed the inevitable after inspecting the pitch this morning.

Originally it was planned that – were tonight’s game called off – then it would be rescheduled for tomorrow night but the weather forecast for tomorrow is even worse than it was for today, so there didn’t seem a lot of point in going down that route.

So it has been decided the tie will now by played in January – with the date to be confirmed by the Spar League secretary, Phil Woosnam.

So, no game at Llanandras Park this evening and the next football there will now be on Boxing Day when the first team will take on Knighton Town in a 2.30pm kick off.
