A good win for the Reserves at Sennybridge

Presteigne Reserves picked up three welcome points with which to start 2013 when they came away from Sennybridge with a 2-1 victory on Saturday, 5 January.

Despite fears the pitch at the Riverside – the clue is in the name – might be a bit dodgy, the game went ahead and, although one corner was reportedly very wet, this proved a good decision as far as the Reserves were concerned, this proved a good decision.

Goals from Spencer Napolitano and Ioan Hughes saw Mark Weiland and Barry Williams’ side through to the win.

While the Reserves are still fourth-bottom of the table, they have now opened up a six-point lead over Sennybridge who are one place below them.

The Reserves will now head to Llandrindod Wells Reserves next weekend – a much tougher challenge in prospect, perhaps, but the side will take confidence from the yesterday’s win and here’s hoping they can build on it at the Broadway.
