Presteigne St Andrews FC’s scheduled Central Wales Cup tie against Aberystwyth University, which was scheduled for Saturday, 5 January, has been postponed.
There were initial rumours circulating at Wednesday night’s committee meeting suggesting Aberystwyth were asking for the game to be off, but the reasons at that time were not clear.
It has since emerged Abersytwyth University are claiming they have a funeral that several key figures need to attend on Saturday, so the Central Wales Cup committee has agreed to the postponement.
All things being equal, as assuming the rainy season is over, the tie will now be played on Tuesday, 23 January when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.
A reminder the Reserves are still due to be in action on Saturday, 5 January – they are due to head to Sennybridge for a Mid Wales League (South) fixture.
The next first-team game will be on Wednesday, 9 January when Llanidloes Town will be at Llanandras Park for the rearranged League Cup, first-round tie.
