Flat out this week at Llanandras Park

Presteigne St Andrews FC faces a hectic week at Llanandras Park – and further afield – as we head into the pointy end of the season.

Tuesday, 30 April will see Builth Wells Reserves and Knighton Town Reserves meet at Llanandras Park in the second of this season’s Alfred Sparey Cup semi-finals when the kick off will be at 7.30pm.

The winners of that tie will meet Brecon Town in the final of the competition and it will be a pretty quick turn around as that final will be held this coming weekend on Sunday, 5 May.

The kick off in the Sparey Cup final on Sunday will be at 2.30pm and it’s hoped a large crowd will turn out for the match.

Then, at 6.00pm, the Edwin Traylor Memorial Cup final will take place in which the Under 18s will take on their counterparts from Pegasus Juniors.

Before that, Presteigne St Andrews FC’s first team will renew acquaintances with Llandrindod Wells in a Spar Mid Wales League, second division fixture at Llanandras Park on Wednesday, 1 May.

This game has been rearranged as a serious electrical malfunction led to the the lights going out when there were only two minutes remaining in the first meeting.

The kick off at Llanandras Park on Wednesday night will be at 7.30pm.

On Thursday, 2 May, the Reserves will head to south Shropshire for a Mid Wales League (South) fixture at Newcastle.

Mark Weiland’s side will be keen to bounce back from their 4-0 home reversal against Rhayader Town Reserves on Saturday, but Newcastle were last season’s champions, so will be a tough nut to crack.

So, plenty of football at Llanandras Park this week, and that’s before we even get to the weekend!
