Presteigne St Andrews FC held Llandrindod Wells to a 1-1 draw in their Spar Mid Wales League, second division match at Llanandras Park on Wednesday, 1 May.

Presteigne led at half-time courtesy of a goal from Frankie Beke in the first period when he sprang the Llandrindod offside track and went on to finish well – that makes it three goals in his last two outings for Frankie.

But the visitors showed just why they have been promoted this season as they hit back in the second half to score their equaliser around 15 minutes from time.

The home side battled hard for their point which was to extend their unbeaten run of league matches to seven.

Meanwhile, the Reserves will be in action this evening when they will head to Newcastle for a Mid Wales League (South) match.

The Ressies will be keen to put in a good performance in the light of last Saturday’s disappointing 4-0 home reversal at the hands of title contenders, Rhayader Town Reserves.

Tonight’s game at Newcastle is due to kick off at 6.45pm and it’s hoped to have the result up online later in the evening.
