Many thanks to everyone who supported the Annual Awards and Presentation Night on Saturday, 18 May when a good time was had by all.

In fact, such a good time that certain members of the Reserve-team squad looked decidedly under the weather when I saw them the following lunchtime in The Oak!

Our grateful thanks to Alan and Paula Randell who did most of the work to organise the event and to everyone who entered into the spirit of what was always going to be something of a ‘different’ evening.

The food took the form of a pig roast and, judging by the comments I heard on the night and have heard since, it went down very well with almost everyone – with the obvious exception of the pig itself.

One or two have mentioned they would have preferred a three-course sit-down meal and we could have had that, but the bottom line is that the tickets would have cost a minimum of £25.00 per head and so that would have meant couples shelling out £50.00 before they had had a drink.

The general view among players and committee alike was that this might well have prevented some people from coming to the evening and this was the last thing we wanted to do.

There will be a list of the award-winners, as well as a ‘rogues’ gallery’ of photos and video clips from the night up online at some stage over the next day or so.

But, once again, many thanks to everyone who attended the night – it turned out to be a thoroughly enjoyable evening.
