Ressies to play Knighton on school field

Presteigne St Andrews FC
A return to action on the John Beddoes School field

Presteigne Reserves will play Knighton Town Reserves on Thursday, 23 May in their rearranged Mid Wales League (South) match.

This game was originally due to be played on Saturday, 18 May, but Knighton called off the match as they were unable to raise a side.

But Thursday’s match will NOT be played at Llanandras Park, but rather on the John Beddoes School field when the kick off will be at 7.00pm.

The game can’t be played at Llanandras Park as groundsman Tracy Hammond has already begun the remedial work to ensure the pitch is in top form for the start of next season.

The town ground has already been sprayed with weed killer and, for very obvious reasons, this means it can’t now be used for football for the foreseeable future.

The fact the game will be on the school field will hardly be a major issue as CP Llanandras played a whole season of away games there a few years ago.

So, if you are at a loose end on Thursday night, then why not head down to the John Beddoes School field for what will be the Reserves’ last league match of the season, although they will also be in action on Saturday, 25 May when they will take on Builth Wells Reserves in the Builth Spa Cup final at Lant Field.
