The Under 18s will host Wellington at Llanandras Park tonight

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s Under 18s are due to entertain Wellington in a HFA Floodlit Youth League match at Llanandras Park on Thursday, 3 October.

I say ‘due’, as this game will clearly be dependent on the worst of the predicted weather skirting around God’s own acre but, as things stand, the game is very much on.

Obviously, the weather forecast is pretty dreadful for the day and, if we do get the predicted rain, then it might be that the chairman will have don snorkel and flippers and nip down to take a look.

Assuming the game does go ahead, then the Under 18s’ manager Roy Simcock will be looking to his side to start the match far better than they did in their last outing at Westfields.

A dozy start to the game was to cost them dear as they were three goals down in the first 20 minutes and there was to be no way back from that as they eventually went down 4-2.

There was then the frustration of missing out on their next scheduled game at home to Llandrindod Wells as the opposition was unable to raise a team, so presumably the Under 18s will be keen to get back into the fray this evening.

The kick off at Llanandras Park will be at 7.30pm and it’s hoped to have the result up online later in the evening.

If the weather does take a turn for the worse, then check back on the website later in the day for any updates on pitch inspections etc.

But no news will be good news – at the moment the game is very much on and, if there are no new postings, then you can assume it will go ahead as planned.
