It will be a 2 o’clock kick off for the derby game at Knighton

It has been confirmed the east Radnorshire derby between Knighton Town and Presteigne St Andrews will go ahead as scheduled on Boxing Day – Thursday, 26 December.

Please note: the kick off at Bryn-y-Castell will be at 2.00pm so, if you are heading over to watch the game, make sure you don’t aim for a 2.30pm kick off.

Presteigne boss Danny Williams will know his side could really do with taking all three points from this one if they are to exert a little pressure on the leading sides in the Spar Mid Wales League, second-division table.

It is promising to be a tough game, though – Knighton have lost only once in their opening 10 league games and are sitting second in the table.

They are yet to lose a league game on their own ground this season, but Presteigne will know that if they were able to pick up the three points, then they would move to within four points of Knighton with two games in hand.

The first meeting of the season came in Presteigne St Andrews’ opening match of the season at Llanandras Park in which the sides battled out an entertaining goal-less draw.

It’s hoped to have an outline match report up online later this evening, but spare a thought for those of us who have to work on Boxing Day, so it might be tomorrow before the details are posted here!
