‘Weedo’ will be looking for a winning end to the league campaign

Presteigne Reserves will round off their Mid Wales League (South) programme on Saturday, 3 May.

Mark Weiland’s side will complete its programme with a home game against Bronllys and the Reserves will doubtless be looking to go out on a high note.

Yes, they will still have a couple of cup finals to play after this game, but third place in the league beckons for ‘Weedo’s’ side.

They would need only a point from the game against Bronllys to secure third spot.

The only way the Reserves could be denied third place is if they were to lose at home to Bronllys and Sennybridge were to then beat Rhayader Town Reserves in their final game of the season.

But Rhayader are hardly going to roll over in that game – a point from their trip to Breconshire would ensure they took the title as they are currently level on points with the leaders, Llanidloes Town Reserves.

As for Bronllys, they are second-bottom of the table after a disappointing season in which they have won only twice this season – although they were due to go to bottom side St Harmon last week and that result hasn’t yet come to hand.

Either way, ‘Weedo’ will doubtless be impressing upon his side the need to focus very much on the job in hand and take nothing for granted.

The kick off at Llanandras Park on Saturday will be at 2.30pm and the admission prices will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
