It is FAW Trophy action for the first team this weekend as they face a potentially tricky second-r0und tie away at Bow Street on Saturday, 20 September.

Jamie Allen’s side was among those to receive a first-round bye in this year’s competition so this will be their first sortie in the Trophy this year.

Bow Street will be a tough nut to crack, though, as they are in the Spar Mid Wales League, first division and are proving difficult to break down this season.

They might only be ninth in the table after their opening five matches, but they are yet to lose a league game this season and have won one and drawn two on their own ground so far this season.

A reminder if you are heading to Bow Street for the Trophy tie then the kick off will be at 2.00pm, so earlier than normal.

As for the Reserves, they will be on the road as well – they make the short trip ‘over the hill’ to take on Knighton Town Reserves in a Mid Wales League (South) game.

Mark Weiland and his side have had a tough start to the season and will be hoping this weekend will bring them a change of luck, although a derby game is never really the easiest of matches to have when you re looking to turn around your fortunes.

But Knighton have only win to their name so far this season and that came away from home, so there are grounds for optimism.

The kick off at Bryn-y-Castell will be at 2.30pm and it’s hoped to have the results of both games up online at some stage on Saturday evening.
