Another one bites the dust – well, mud

Presteigne St Andrews FC’s scheduled ER Jenkins Cup match against Penybont FC on Friday, 14 November has been called off.

Tom Ammonds was among those who headed down to Llanandras Park to take a look at the playing surface and he reports there was no way the game could go ahead.

“It is the same area of the pitch that has caused us issues so many times before – on the edge of the penalty area at the Lugg View end of the ground,” said Tom.

“When I went out on to the pitch, the mud and water came up over my boot so there was no way the game could go ahead.

“It is a shame as we were all looking forward to the match, but there really was no way we could have played on the pitch when it was in that state,” he added.

A reminder that the Reserves will be in action tomorrow afternoon when they will head to Brecon Northcote for a Mid Wales League (South) fixture.

The kick off at Brecon tomorrow will be at 2.15pm and here’s hoping ‘Weedo’s’ boys can pick up what would be a welcome win on the road.
