Presteigne Reserves made it three successive away wins in the Mid Wales League (South) on Saturday, 13 December.

They came away from St Harmon with all three points after a 2-0 victory, thanks to goals from Mark Weiland, who continued his good form from the penalty spot, and Tom Lewis.

‘Weedo’ put the Reserves in front in the first half after Gareth Bull was upended in the penalty area.

“It is amazing – after weeks when we never looked like getting a penalty, we have now had three in three games,” said ‘Weedo’.

“Fortunately I stuck that away, and then Tom Lewis got us a second goal after half-time to give us a bit of breathing space.

“But it was always going to be tough in the second half as we had to defend for long periods, but our back four was outstanding throughout and we held on for another win and another clean sheet.

“It is a shame was had such a poor start to the season, but we can’t do anything about that now – we just have to keep building on our recent form.

“It is a shame we don’t have a league game now until January as we would like to keep things going,” he added.

Well done to the Ressies – it is good to see them putting together a run and it wasn’t many weeks ago that you would have got long odds on them picking up successive 2-0 away victories.
