The Christmas and New Year festivities are now firmly behind us and so it is back into the competitive action on Saturday, 3 January.
As far as the first team is concerned, here’s hoping that 2015 starts a bit better than 2014 ended.
Jamie Allen will take his side to Kerry in the third round of the Central Wales Cup when they look for the result that would go some way to banishing the Boxing Day blues.
Kerry are going well this season and they are fourth in the Spar Mid Wales League, second division table.
They are especially strong on their own patch – they have won all six home league matches so far this season.
So, Presteigne will probably start as clear second favourites in this one, but it’s worth remembering that would have been very much the case when the first team took on Rhosgoch Rangers in the Spar Mid Wales League Cup, and yet they confounded the odds that night.
If you are planning on heading to Kerry for this game, please note the kick off time for the game will be earlier than normal at 1.30pm.
The Reserves are also back in action tomorrow when they will welcome Builth Wells Reserves to Llanandras Park for a Mid Wales League (South) fixture.
This will be the first time the Reserves have played a league game since Saturday, 13 December so it’ll be interesting to see how they respond to the long break.
It is worth remembering that the Reserves had found a bit of form in the run up to the festive period, so here’s hoping they can pick up from where they left off.
The kick off at Llanandras Park for this one will be at 2.30pm and admission prices for the game will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
