Presteigne St Andrews FC’s cup secretary Tom Ammonds advises me that the second Otway Cup semi-final between Kington Town and Rhosgoch Rangers has been postponed.

The tie had been scheduled for Tuesday, 17 February, but the decision has been taken to call it off early so as to give the sides plenty of warning.

“The pitch is still pretty wet in places and there is the threat of more rain about,” said Tom.

“We also have to take into consideration the fact we are playing at home to Kerry on Friday night in a league game and so there would be less recovery time for the pitch after the Tuesday-night fixture.

“There is still plenty of time to fit in the Otway Cup semi-final tie and so it seemed the sensible thing to do,” he added.

The winners of the Kington-Rhosgoch semi-final will take on Hay St Mary’s in the final of the competition on a date that is yet to be confirmed.
