Jamie’s boys finish things off with a win

Presteigne St Andrews FC
Ressies head to Hay

Presteigne St Andrews FCPresteigne St Andrews FC rounded off their Spar Mid Wales League, second-division with a win and a clean sheet.

They came away from Dyffryn Banw with a 2-0 victory and so ended the season on a high note.

Presteigne had a golden chance to take the lead when Callum Matthews was upended in the penalty area but, after picking himself up and dusting himself down, Callum was unable to take advantage from the spot.

But Presteigne didn’t have to wait too long to take the lead when there was a mix up in the heart of the home team’s defence and Mike Symonds was in the right place at the right time.

‘Symo’ still had a bit to do, but he kept his cool and finished from around 25 yards.

A goal up at the break, Presteigne improved in the second half and were ultimately good value for the victory which they secured when Adam Crowe netted their second.

So, well done to the first-team squad on seeing it through to the end.

It has been a tough season in many ways, but it is always good to round things off with a win as this leaves everyone in an upbeat mood heading into the summer.

Hopefully there will be a more detailed report in the next day or so.
