Congratulations to Hay St Marys FC on their win in the KC Electrical-sponsored Presteigne Otway Cup final on Sunday, 3 May.

Hay shaded a tight final against Rhosgoch Rangers, winning the match 1-0.

Presteigne’s vice-chairman and cup secretary Tom Ammonds says it was a good contest between two well-matched sides.

“Jack Biggs scored the one and only goal after around 20 minutes to cap a fine defensive display by Hay,” said Tom.

“Commiserations to Rhosgoch who rallied to put in a great late challenge but unfortunately couldn’t find they couldn’t find the equaliser to take it to extra time.

“I would like to take this opportunity of thanking KC Electrical for their kind sponsorship of the Otway Cup this season and all our other sponsors and helpers.

“Congratulations from all at Presteigne St Andrews FC to the winners and our thanks to the match officials and other competing teams for helping make this year’s Otway Cup a success,” he added.

Meanwhile, Tom has also confirmed that this season’s Alfred Sparey Cup final will be held at Llanandras Park on Friday, 15 May.

Presteigne Reserves will take on Radnor Valley in the final which is due to kick off at 7.30pm.
