Builth Spa disappointment and ‘bont Cup action tonight

A tough day on the road

Tuesday night at Penybont for the first team

Presteigne Reserves were beaten 3-1 in their Builth Spa Cup final appearance on Saturday, 9 May.

Shaun Prince’s goal in the first half secured Mark Weiland’s side a half-time lead – at least, I am told it was Shaun who found the net, but if it proves to be otherwise, then I will amend accordingly.

But Builth hit back in the second half to score three unanswered goals of their own and so dashed Presteigne hopes of further reward in a competition in which they have enjoyed a fair degree of success in recent seasons.

If Presteigne Reserves are to put a trophy on the sideboard this season, then it will now have to be by way of the Alfred Sparey Cup final in which they will take on Radnor Valley.

Meanwhile, the first team will head to Penybont on Tuesday, 12 May for their semi-final tie in the Penybont Cup.

They will play Builth Wells in the tie at the Racecourse, where the kick off is scheduled for 6.30pm.
