Jamie was delighted by the way the side dug in to record a second league win

My thanks to the first team manager Jamie Allen for letting me have his thoughts on the side’s 4-1 home win over Bont FC on Wednesday, 26 August.

“Once again, it was a sluggish, slow start from us but after 30 minutes, Josh Gardner produced a moment of brilliance with a 30-yard chip into the far corner from the touchline,” said Jamie.

“We then came out in the second half and, after Ieuan Crowe closed down the keeper, he cleared it straight to Alan “Stocks” Stocker who duly slammed the ball into the bottom corner.

“Bont then pulled one back courtesy of a great run by their centre half who broke through and slotted it home.

“We then had a shakey 10 minutes where some great battling and tackling from man-of-the-match Danny Evans helpled settle us down again.

“We then introduced some substitutes with Merv Stephens, Josh Griffiths and Duane Anning and some good work by Josh in the middle freed Josh Gardner who squared for Merv to score to make it 3-1.

“Then, in the final few minutes the two Joshes combined again for Josh Gardner to slam the ball home for 4-1.

“So, after a poor start we again we showed we can battle when needed and in the end we played some great football tonight.”
