A tough day on the road

Match abandoned at Llanandras Park

Presteigne Reserves’ Mid Wales League (South) home match against Rhayader Town Reserves on Friday, 25 September was abandoned.

This was due to a serious injury to Rhayader Reserves’ Jordan McFadden who sustained a suspected broken leg.

There was a 40-minute delay whilst officials awaited the arrival of an ambulance to take Jordan to hospital.

Understandably, given the seriousness of the injury and the lengthy delay, the match officials took the only decision open to them and called off the game.

For the record, Presteigne Reserves were leading 2-1 at the time of the  incident courtesy of goals from Duane Anning and Ton Crichton.

But it was a night when the score line was very much of secondary importance and everyone at Presteigne St Andrews FC sends our best wishes to Jordan McFadden for a full and speedy recovery.
