Presteigne St Andrews FC picked up a point from a 1-1 draw in their Spar Mid Wales League, second-division match against Bettws at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 23 January.

The visitors took a first-half lead, only for Ioan Hughes to level for Presteigne on the stroke of half-time.

There wasn’t a lot of quality on show but the recent long run of wet weather played a part in that as, while the pitch looked excellent from the sidelines, there were patches that were very heavy.

But a point is better than nothing and – after the away win at Bont the previous week – it did at least maintain the unbeaten run.

As for the Reserves, they were on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline in their Mid Wales League (South) match at St Harmon.

The game was there for the taking with 10 minutes to go as it was all square at 1-1 at that stage but, sadly for the Ressies, it was St Harmon who finished the stronger and they closed out the victory.

I have no details yet on the Reserves’ scorer or any other information on the game but will add that in if and when it comes to hand.
