It is finals day in both the Otway and Sparey Cups

Presteigne St Andrews FC will stage the finals of both the Presteigne Otway Cup and the Alfred Sparey Cup at Llanandras Park on Sunday, 29 May.

It will be a 1.00pm kick off for the Sparey Cup final in which Newcastle will take on Hay St Mary’s Reserves.

This should be a good contest between two of the better sides in the Mid Wales League (South).

Then, at 5.00pm, it will be the turn of Hay St Mary’s and Kington Town to lock horns in the Presteigne Otway Cup final.

Hay will be back on familiar turf as they won the Radnorshire Cup final at Llanandras Park on Friday, 27 May in which they beat Rhayader Town 4-2 – this despite having a man sent off.

But Kington Town will be determined to take the trophy back home with them so that, again, promises to be a good contest.

It is looking as though it is going to be a lovely day so, if you are at a loose end and fancy taking in some good quality local football, then why not head down to Llanandras Park and see which two of the four teams head home with the trophies – and can Hay do a double?
