Presteigne St Andrews are off and running in terms of the Spar Mid Wales League, second division this season.
They came away from Penybont with a 1-1 draw on Wednesday, 17 August.
Tom Ammonds was taking charge of the side for the first time following the decision of Mark Weiland to step down as manager, so this was clearly a big night for all concerned.
While things didn’t start too well in that Penybont took an early lead, Matt Strangwood’s goal had Presteigne level before the break.
Some correspondents on social media have suggested ‘Ammo’s’ side did enough in the second half to take all three points but, given they were there supporting Presteigne, there is an argument that ‘they would say that, wouldn’t they’!
But a point is a point and, after three successive defeats, it is good to be on the board.
Hopefully this will give everyone something of a lift ahead of the FAW Welsh Cup tie against Borth United at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 20 August.
