It’s Welsh Cup day at Llanandras Park on Saturday

Presteigne St Andrews FC will enter the FAW Welsh Cup fray at Llanandras Park on Saturday, 20 August.

Our visitors will be known to us – Borth United also play in the Spar Mid Wales League, second division and so this has the makings of a close game.

Caretaker manager Tom Ammonds says he had been encouraged by the commitment levels shown in the 1-1 draw at Penybont in the league game on Wednesday, 17 August.

“I will be looking for more of the same levels of effort that I saw at Penybont on Wednesday night.

“On another day we could have scored four or five but when confidence in low then it always seems that little bit harder to convert the chances.

“The game comes thick and fast and, although this is isn’t a league match, it gives us a chance to have another outing together.

“Having said that, it is the National Welsh competition, so if we could progress then this would be a huge lift to the players.

“The squad has a few changes from it, with Gary Evans, Alan Stocker and Josh Gardner all added.

“I would like to thank George Lancett for this kind sponsorship off the match and I hope that he can enjoy the day.

“I know the lads will be up for it and I just hope we can keep progressing with our performances.”

The kick off at Llanandras Park will be at 2.30pm and there will be extra time and penalties if required.

Admission to the game will be £3.00 for adults; £1.50 for senior citizens and £1.00 for those under the age of 16.
