Presteigne St Andrews FCs manager Tom Ammonds has been reflecting on the club’s most successful weekend for some time.

Both Tom’s first team squad and Dale Tomkins’ Reserves enjoyed fine wins with the first team beating visiting Four Crosses 4-1 at Llanandras Park and the Reserves winning 3-2 at Builth Wells Reserves.

If you would like to watch a video of Tom’s thoughts on the game, then you can do so by clicking here or on the image at the top of the page.

While he was delighted with the result, Tom admitted the first team had made hard work of things in the second half when Four Crosses briefly threatened to get back into the game when they got it back to 3-1.

But Tom felt they had weathered the storm – in every sense, as the game was played in dreadful conditions – and he was delighted with the character the side had shown.

Similarly, the Reserves’ win at Builth Wells Reserves was another positive result for the squad who are now right back in the mix in terms of the Mid Wales League (South) title race.

The Reserves are due to play Hay St Mary’s Reserves at Llanandras Park in a league match on Wednesday, 14 December where the scheduled kick off will be at 7.30pm.

But it should be noted that Llanandras Park was said to be very wet on Monday and it’s likely there will be a pitch inspection ahead of this game.
