The Ressies start the new year with a home game

After the break for the festive period, Presteigne Reserves are back in Mid Wales League (South) action on Friday, 6 January.

It should be quite a game to come back to, as well, as Rhayader Town Reserves will be the visitors to Llanandras Park for a 7.30pm kick off.

Rhayader’s second string have been among the more consistent sides in the league over recent seasons winning a couple of titles along the way.

Whilst they haven’t quite hit these heights this season, it is usually a test against any side from Rhayader and the Reserves will know they will need to start the new year as they mean to go on if they are to take anything from this one – although they will feel they are more than capable of doing so.

Earlier in the season, when the sides met at the Weirglodd, Dale Tomkins’ side came away with a very creditable point from a 1-1 draw on 27 August.

With no game for the first team this weekend, tonight represents your chance to get your first ‘football fix’ of 2017, and it’s hoped there will be a good turn out for the game.

Admission prices for the match will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
