After discussions with the member clubs, the Herefordshire Football Association have indicated the Under 18s Floodlit League is likely to continue this season.
As reported on 18 January, some of the Hereford-based clubs had indicated to the HFA they were looking for the league to be suspended as they were concerned about the demand on their pitches with so many postponed games having to be rearranged.
But Val Lambert from the Herefordshire FA has informed us: “The vast majority of responses from teams relating to continuance of League was that it should proceed.”
From this, we can only assume it will be business as usual for Trevor Gummer and his Under 18s squad who are next due in action on Thursday 27 January when they will head to Westfields.
Any changes to league fixtures will be posted on the Under 18s page of the site as and when we get them, while we have also received notification the Giantkillers Cup match against Leominster will now be played on Monday 8 February when the kick off at Llanandras Park will be at 7.30pm.
