A home match for the Reserves

Presteigne Reserves will return to Mid Wales League (South) action on Saturday, 30 March when they will host Felindre at Llanandras Park in a 2.30pm kick off.

Alan Stocker is a busy man at the moment – not only is he running the Reserves squad but he is also overseeing the remaining first-team fixtures this season but this weekend will see him attempting to ensure the Reserves end their season on a high with good performances in their closing few matches.

This is Felindre’s final league game of the season so they will doubtless be keen to round things off in style, which could make them potentially dangerous opponents.

While the Teme Valley side is bottom of the league, it should be remembered they did take a point from the Reserves in the first meeting of the season back in November, so they are not to be taken lightly.

In fact, while they have won only once in the league this season, Felindre’s recent form suggests they are starting to catch up in terms of performance levels.

That win came in January when they put away Hay St Mary’s 5-0 at home while they also drew 2-2 with visiting Knighton Town Reserves.

They have also pushed both Builth Wells Reserves and St Harmon close on their own ground before going down 2-1 on both occasions.

So, plenty to play for in this one and here’s hoping the Reserves can rise to the occasion.

Kick off, then, will be at 2.30pm and the admission prices will be the usual £2.00 for adults and £1.00 for senior citizens and youngsters under the age of 16.
