We are sad to have to report that the MMP with Norman Lloyd League has announced Hay St Mary’s FC has withdrawn from the first division.
Hay were promoted at the end of last season after finishing third in division two last season.
In a brief statement, the league secretary Phil Woosnam confirmed the news.
“It is with regret that we have to report the withdrawal of Hay St Mary’s again from the MMP Mid Wales League.
“This is unfortunately the second occasion this has happened in just a few years – once again, a very sad day for the club.”
As a club, Presteigne St Andrews FC would echo Phil Woosnam’s sentiments – it is a great shame, especially for those who work so hard behind the scenes at Forest Road to ensure the facilities are maintained and bills are paid etc.
Let’s hope Hay can regroup and come back in future years.
